Esperanza is the Kenya Programme Manager for the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN).  Esperanza holds a BA in Geography and Environmental Studies, and a Masters in Environmental Planning and Management, both degrees from the University of Nairobi. Her 11 years of experience includes supporting water service providers to establish governance structures that enable accessibility of services in low-income areas; supporting local governments to establish climate change governance structures; development of devolved climate financing mechanisms that facilitate the flow of climate finance to the community; research; and development of knowledge products such as curriculum and training guides, policy briefs and policy issues, among others. Her interest lies in brokering knowledge on nature-based solutions, climate finance, and resilience building. She spends her spare time with family and with Rotary International members to support local community development projects.
