Ethiopia NDC Update Project

Commissioned by the World Bank and working in direct collaboration with the Government of Ethiopia, the project’s main objective is to support the update of the country’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC). The Paris Agreement calls on parties to update and submit NDCs to the UNFCCC before the rescheduled 26^th Conference of the Parties (COP); this involves raising ambition, aligning the NDCs to long-term country strategies, and implementing an NDC reporting cycle every five years. The scope of work includes the provision of recommendations alongside a Technical Report to support the Government’s updated commitments based on improved data and a refined methodology. This project also undertakes a supplementary analysis of mitigation pathways.
