NDC Partnership Climate Action Enhancement Package (CAEP)

The NDC Partnership designed the Climate Action Enhancement Package (CAEP) to deliver targeted support to countries to enhance the quality and increase the ambition of the nationally determined contributions (NDCs).

The Government of Ethiopia is committed to implementing its ambitious climate goals. The country has submitted a summary of its revised NDC and has finalized the development of its 10-year development plan, which mainstreams the country’s policy for low-carbon and climate-resilient growth and development.

The NDC Partnership’s CAEP appointed SSN to implement a programme from January 2020 – March 2021. The programme is co-financed by the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN). As part of this engagement, SSN provides technical assistance to the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Commission (EFCCC) on strengthening:

- The knowledge management and information exchange on NDC implementation processes in Ethiopia;
- The development of strategies on aspects and sectors that are relevant to the NDC update process of Ethiopia; and
- The dissemination of knowledge and information on the design and implementation of Ethiopia’s NDC.
