IKI LAC and Gestión CC Phase 2 project – Technical Lead

SSN invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for a Technical Lead position in our IKI LAC and Gestión CC Phase 2 project.

The Role:

The Technical Lead will be SSN’s in-house lead on implementation and delivery with extensive exposure in the areas of:

  • climate resilience;
  • international funding mechanisms; and
  • blended finance supporting mitigation and adaptation, particularly public-private finance in developing countries.

The Technical Lead should be comfortable conversing with executive-level government and private stakeholders and host excellent knowledge management skills.

About the Projects:

IKI-LAC, funded by the German Environmental Ministry (BMU), aims to provide the evidentiary basis for policy reform, and to create the enabling conditions that result in the rapid decarbonisation of the economies of Peru, Argentina and Brazil by making finance flows consistent with low-carbon development pathways.

Gestión CC 2, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), aims to improve capacity for the implementation of Peru’s National Determined Contributions. Specifically, this will be achieved through improved institutional arrangements, capacity development, adequate access to finance and information, and stakeholder empowerment.

SSN is looking to fill the position in quarter one of 2020. Spanish speaking candidates will be given preference.

The Cape Town based position offers an attractive salary, the opportunity to travel throughout South America and the chance to influence regional climate change outcomes.
