- Scott Muller is a climate practitioner with a long track record of building partnerships for low emissions development. He has served as a technical expert with UNESCO and the Convention on Biological Diversity and has a keen sense of the issues relevant to local government, having functioned as City Director for the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group in Lima, Peru, for five years. He chairs the Low Emission Development Strategies Global Partnership (LEDS GP) Subnational Integration Working Group.
- Jeanette Laurente is a consultant to local organisations on climate change policies and programmes. She has recently worked on governmental energy efficiency-related programmes and assisted LGUs with greenhouse gas inventories and drafting Local Climate Change Action Plans (LCCAPs).
- Doris Sagenes is the City Environment and Natural Resources Officer of the City of Imus in the Province of Cavite. She has been with the environment office for the past 12 years spearheading numerous award winning environmental and climate change projects contributing substantially to the City’s goals.
- Oliver Gonzales is the City Environment Officer of the Batangas City Government. He is also the National President of the Philippine League of Local Environment and Natural Resource Officers (PLLENRO), linked to the National Climate Change Commission chaired by the President of the Philippines.
This webinar revisits the outcomes of this discussion and examines investment to the LGUs to implement the EE&C Act amid the COVID-19 pandemic. As the Philippines adapts to the “new normal” scenario, it is expected that activities related to climate change mitigation and the implementation of the EE&C Act will resume along its earlier track.
This is the 6th webinar in a series entitled Mobilising Investment for NDC funded by the German Government under the International Climate Initiative (IKI).
