Webinar: Low-carbon energy solution for low-income housing in Cape Town

Description: A pre-feasibility study has been conducted on an innovative low-carbon energy solution for the formalising of the Kosovo informal settlement in Cape Town. Kosovo is one of 27 informal settlements currently the focus of a fast-track housing delivery process driven by a partnership between the Western Cape Department of Human Settlement and the City of Cape Town. Funding for the study was provided by the UK Prosperity Fund.

In the webinar, the project team will present the:

  • Development context
  • Components of the energy solution
  • Business case and regulatory aspects
  • Environmental, economic and social co-benefits of the energy solution
  • Opportunities and challenges in implementing low-carbon energy solutions in low-income communities

This webinar will appeal to those involved in energy access planning, funding and implementation, as well as suppliers of demand, supply, monitoring and payment technologies.
